Police target salmon poachers on Moyola.
Police officers working with DCAL Fishery Protection Officers conducted patrols along the Moyola River on Monday, to tackle the issue of salmon poaching in the area. Police are now in possession of a large fishing net that was recovered from the mouth of the river.
Police, as part of Operation Salmo will continue to work with angling clubs for the area and are determined to prevent salmon poaching from happening and will continue to target known poaching hot spots.
Police will take robust action against anyone caught committing this type of activity in the area, which may result in prosecution through the coarts and may also lead to boats and private vehicles being seized.
