First salmon for Mark

28 August 2008
CONGRATULATIONS to Moyola Junior angler Mark McClelland who caught his first ever salmon this week, having only started fishing two months ago.

Mark caught his beautiful 5lb silver salmon on a red flying C on the Moyola on Tuesday.
After the recent floods, there has been a good run of fresh salmon into the Moyola, which of course turns up the heat in the race for the Wooden Spoon.
Club Chairman, Seamus Donnelly left this little reminder on the guestbook of the website:
"I dont want to put any of you fine anglers under pressure, but the list for the 2008 wooden spoon is still quite long.

"I have a few names which can be scrubbed off: Andy Glendinning, Barry gallagher, DD scullion, David kennedy, Johnny Hurl, Seamus Donnelly, Anthony O'Hagan, Johnny Dorrity, Mark McMullan have all been successful so far.

"As always there is the men who have lost fish, my heart goes out to you fellas - but your names can't come off the list until you bank a fish and have it witnessed.so keep at it, if your not in you can't win..."

If anyone has more names to scrub of the list. Let us know as soon as possible..
Send your comments and pictures to info@moyolaangling.com or leave them on the guestbook.
