Dinner dance and awards night

Monday, November 10, 2008
UNDOUBTEDLY one of the prevailing memories of the 2008 angling season on the Moyola was the raging torrent of a flood on August 16.

The 2008 season will also be remembered for the highly successful club trips to Mill Lough in Fermanagh and the Sessiagh lakes in Dunfanaghy. For some anglers the year will remembered for the outstanding trout fishing and the superb Open Day held at Tobermore Ponds in September.

But for one 'lucky' angler, 2008 will be remembered for the salmon which they didn't catch - and that angler will have the beautiful Wooden Spoon as their reward.

Yes folks, it's that time of the year again when those who failed in their pursuit of the King of fish will be looking for extra fingers to sustain their now feverish nail-biting habit.

The winner of the 2008 Wooden Spoon will be announced at the Club's Annual Dinner Dance and Awards Night to be held in the O'Neill Arms Hotel, Toomebridge on Friday, November 21.

The Dinner dance is a great chance for anglers and their partners to get together and relive the many memories of the last 12 months.

If you would like to find out more about the Dinner Dance, email info@moyolaangling.com or leave your name and details in the 'guestbook'.

A meeting of the Moyola Angling Committe will be held in the Bridge Bar, Castledawson on Monday 17 November.
