The "White O Mourn" Tackle Shop has its official opening in Randalstown on saturday and they are giving 25% off everything on the day,
that would be a good chance to get cheap tackle.

was wondering if anyone could suggest a shop or online  fishing shop that has cheap spinners.

Rab

the club doesn't have a map of the river showing parking etc.
maybe its something we can look into producing.

The Moyola is made up of four sections.
Lower river:
from Newbridge to Castledawson (there is ample parking along here)
Lower-Mid River:
From Castledawson to Curran Picnic area on the A6 Belfast to Derry road (again plenty of parking)
Upper-Mid River:
From Curran Picnic area to Tobermore.
Upper River:
From Tobermore to above Draperstown.

The Moyola is 27 miles long and as we have so much water even some of the locals dont know the whole river.

KELCOS,hello just responding to the turbine issue,my issue on this is that i hope that with the abstraction of 1000m of peat appropiate measure will be taking so that no run of from this silt etc will enter into these streams as this can be damaging to spawning habitat and  invertabrate life.
The club is aware of the application to erect these turbines.
An in depth environmental impact assessment has taken place and the results of this is available to any interested parties.
A copy is available for public viewing at both Draperstown and Moneymore Libraries.
It is my understanding that no Turbine will be erected within 50 mts of any water course.
As for the removal of 1000m3 of peat per turbine,
Again it is my understanding that extensive peat probing has taken place,as part of the impact assessment to accompany the planning application,to determine the depth of the peat layer for the proposed Turbine locations.
If anyone gets a chance to read these documents, please let us know if this is correct

Do any of your members have any opinion on the application for 11 X 400 foot wind turbines near the tributaries of the upper moyola on the western slopes of slieve gallion considering each requires removal of 1000m3 of peat and the possible effects downstream of such actions ?
